A moment to get to know the designer and creator behind GlowNote.
designer and maker. For years, I’ve worked on visual concepts and brand stories, but with GlowNote, I wanted something different: something that truly touches people. Not a grand gesture, but a small moment that lingers. A candle that doesn’t just glow, but speaks.
GlowNote was born from my love for simplicity, surprise, and meaning. It’s a project where I can pour in my creativity — but more than that, it fulfills my desire to create something that connects people. With care, with feeling — and with a message that only reveals itself when you take the time to see it.
It actually started in a funny way: someone in my building showed me a tealight candle with a little paper note inside as a personal message. I immediately thought — cool idea, but paper and fire aren’t exactly the best match. That moment sparked the concept.
At the same time, I’ve always wanted to create something that really makes people feel something — without the clichés of a greeting card or a standard gift. Something small, but meaningful. That element of surprise, that intimate moment… that’s where GlowNote began.
And in today’s world, where everything is so digital and fast, I think a physical product like GlowNote is a refreshing, honest alternative to messages and likes.
Each GlowNote has a small aluminum ring hidden in the wax, with a short message engraved on it. The message only reveals itself after a few hours of burning. That’s what makes it more than just a candle — it turns into a gift with real emotional impact. People expect a nice scent, a cozy vibe — and then suddenly… there it is. A few words that truly hit home.
I wanted something that captured the core of the idea. ‘Glow’ represents the light of the candle. ‘Note’ stands for the message hidden inside. So: GlowNote. Simple, but spot on.
For anyone who wants to say something in an original way. Love, friendship, a memory, or just a small gesture — GlowNote fits almost any moment. Businesses have used it as a thank-you gift, and people have given them after weddings or events. The possibilities are endless.
Each candle is hand-poured into a black tin. First, we pour a base layer of scented wax. Then, we place the ring with the selected message — standard or personalized. After that, we add the top layer and seal the tin with care. Every step is done with attention to detail.
I’ve picked scents that evoke real feelings: hammam, vanilla, lavender, sandalwood & musk, cherry blossom… all fragrances that can bring back memories or create a sense of calm. There’s also an unscented version — sometimes you want the message to do all the talking.
That never gets old. It’s amazing to see people intentionally choose something meaningful. The idea that someone lights a candle, not expecting anything, and then suddenly reads a message meant just for them — that’s exactly why I started this
A lot of people tell me they got emotional. Especially because the message appears so unexpectedly. One customer said, “It felt like someone knew exactly what I needed — even before I did.” That kind of feedback really stays with you.
That they pause for a moment. That they’re touched. Or simply feel a sense of warmth. It’s a small gesture, but one that can leave a lasting impression.
I’m planning to expand it slowly. More scents, new default messages, maybe some limited holiday editions. But always with the same focus: personal, surprising, and made with care.
