How to Burn a Candle the Right Way (and Avoid Tunneling)

We all want a candle that burns beautifully and lasts a long time. But did you know the very first burn is the most important?

Here are the 4 essential tips to make your GlowNote burn perfectly:

1. Let it burn for at least 2 hours the first time
Soy wax has memory. If you blow it out before the entire surface has melted, it will form a “tunnel” — and that’s something you want to avoid.

2. Trim the wick to 5 mm before lighting
A wick that’s too long creates a large flame, black soot, and uneven melting.

3. Place your candle on a stable surface, away from drafts
Wind or vibrations can make the flame flicker, causing tunneling or overheating.

4. Use a lid or snuffer to extinguish your candle
This prevents smoke and helps preserve the fragrance.

A candle isn’t meant to be rushed. Give it (and yourself) time — and it will become a glowing experience.
